MPL Bingo Skill Rules

MPL Bingo Skill is a variant of the classic cult game with some exciting additional features and rules. Here are the basic bingo game rules on MPL.

• MPL Bingo Skill is played on four types of bingo cards. Players can choose a card at the start of the game. However, you can choose only one Bingo card to play your game.
• Players can use the Bingo card history to decide which bingo card is best based on the history of winning cards.
• Bingo Skill features a time in each game. Players must score the maximum points before the timer ends.
• Players must daub the number displayed on the screen.
• There are three daubs in the game based on how fast players tap the numbers: Perfect Daub, Good Daub, and Correct Daub. Perfect is the fastest and highest point scorer daub, as per the bingo rules on MPL.
• Players score points based on the type of daubs they score in the game.
• As per Bingo rules, players can score extra points by forming bingo formations - Row, Column, Four Corners, and Diagonal.
• Players face penalty points if they daub incorrectly on the bingo card.
• As per the rules of Bingo Skill, players get two types of special powers in the game - Wild Daub and Extra Time.
• Players can use a Wild Daub to their advantage by daub any number to complete a bingo formation.
• With each Extra Time power, 10 seconds are added to the overall game time.
• The player with the maximum score at the end of the timer wins the game as per rules of Bingo Skill.

Classic Bingo Rules

In the traditional Bingo game, players mark the numbers printed on the bingo balls, drawn randomly, on the bingo board. In the US, a classic bingo game follows the traditional bingo game rules, especially in offline mode games. Many new variants of Bingo rules and features emerged based on classic game rules.

• Classic bingo games can have multiple scorecards available for players to choose from in a single game.
• The bingo game is played with bingo cards that have five vertical rows and five horizontal columns for all players. 
• The column’s top is lettered with B, I, N, G, O representing the game. 
• The game host, also known as the caller, draws balls randomly from a large bowl.
• There is a free space in the Nth column in the middle square, which contains no numbers.
• Bingo balls are numbered from 1 to 75 and kept in a box to be drawn. They are picked randomly, and players must mark them across their bingo board. 
• There is a wide range of winning patterns based on the gaming mode. However, a complete row, column, or diagonal marked up is frequently recognized as a win.
• Players who successfully complete patterns yell “Bingo!” before the start of the next game rounds. Players must mark up five spaces in a horizontal row, vertical column, or two diagonals of the card. 
• To win the game, there are three major objectives: one line, two lines, and a full house.
• Players must mark off horizontal, vertical, or diagonal spaces on the card completely to win. This method is popular as the one-line method.
• Mark up two complete horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines of numbers, known as Two lines. 
• Any number on the card can appear only once. There is no chance of repetition in a single game. 
• As mentioned in the bingo rules, you can complete all the numbers on the bingo card to win. This is popularly known as a “Full House.”
• Some of the game variants of bingo might have differences based on different winning patterns.
• Players must shout “Bingo!” when any of the horizontal, vertical, or diagonal positions are completely marked up.

Basic Setup

Number of Players

According to the official rules of bingo, 2 to 12 players should play Bingo at a time. However, you can play 1v1 bingo games on MPL Bingo Skill and win real cash rewards.

Bingo Cards

In traditional BINGO, each player can choose any number of cards. However, in MPL Bingo Skill, players can choose any cards before the start of the game. Each bingo card consists of 5 rows and 5 columns, which equals 25 spaces.

The columns are labeled with the letters “B,” “I,” “N,” “G,” and “O.” The center space out of the 25 spaces is a “free” space with no number value.

• Each space under the “B” column consists of numbers ranging from 1-15.
• Each space under the “I” column consists of numbers ranging from 16-30.
• Each space under the “N” column consists of numbers ranging from 31-45.
• Each space under the “G” column consists of numbers ranging from 46-60.
• Each space under the “O” column consists of numbers ranging from 61-75.

There are a total of 75 BINGO numbers ranging from B1 to O75. Each of these numbers is represented by a ball having a unique bingo number. 

Bingo Terminologies

There are specific popular terms used while playing bingo games. 

• Breaking the Bubble: This signifies the minimum number of balls required to complete a specific pattern in the game. 
• Jumping the gun: This is also popularly known as ‘premature bingo’ or ‘social error’. In this situation, a player might call a number before it is called on the screen.
• Wild Numbers: Wild numbers are popular in hall games where bingo players might start with multiple card numbers. For example, if a ball is 11, all other numbers ending in 1 are considered a called number and marked.
• Hard Way Bingo: This bingo variant uses a straight line without any free space on the central square of the board.

Game Materials

Bingo cards

In offline games, bingo cards are regular flat pieces of cardboard or paper with square divisions and numbers engraved. The center position is known as the “free” space. 

However, online bingo cards have 25 blocks with numbers in each column. In bingo cards, the numbers are arranged in blocks randomly. The range of numbers is between 1 and 75, as per the bingo game rules.

In many variants of bingo games, players can have multiple Bingo cards. Playing with multiple cards increases the chance of winning as players might get more cards. However, it might make the game more complex and trickier as tracking numbers in multiple bingo scorecards simultaneously makes the gameplay more complex.

Bingo balls

Bingo balls are numbered from 1-75 with the name letters “B,” “I,” “N,” “G,” and “O” present on the top of columns. There is only one space left on the board that is in N column and 43 number. This is known as ‘free space’.

Players mark a number on their bingo card based on the ball drawn. However, if the number is not on the board, the player must continue and do nothing. As per the bingo rules, balls must be drawn randomly from large bowls.

There are some variants of bingo balls, e.g., 30 balls, 75 balls, 80 balls, 90 balls, and more. However, 75-ball bingo is more frequently played.

Bingo Caller

A Bingo caller is a person who extracts a random number from a big bowl or machine and announces the numbers being displayed to the bingo players. For example, if the caller pulls a ball from the pot of balls and it says “B-14”, then the caller must shout “B 14” loudly several times. 

As per the rules of bingo, the bingo caller might play as well and announce the numbers simultaneously. However, in some house games callers are predetermined and do not participate in the game. 

The Objective of the Game

The main goal of the bingo game is to keep marking numbers as called on the bingo boards and make a winning pattern (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal). The winning patterns may vary depending on the predetermined pattern chosen by the game's host. 

Players must make the winning pattern and shout “Bingo!” to claim rewards. You can play an exciting version of Bingo and earn up to $50,000 daily from cash tournaments and events on MPL. 

Winning Conditions

The winning conditions in a Bingo game may vary based on the bingo rules. Players must mark off numbers as they are called in the game. They must keep picturing the predetermined winning pattern and complete a specific pattern. After completing the pattern, they need to shout “Bingo!” and win.

You must be quick and subtle in making patterns before your opponents do. The host may be inspired by the pattern of the letters and keep winning patterns such as L, X, T, etc.  Some of the common patterns frequently used in the game are mentioned below.

• Straight Line: Mark all the numbers on the board in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line.
• Four Corners: Mark off all four corner numbers on the card. 
• One Line: Mark off horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines of numbers. 
• Two Lines: Daub two full horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines of numbers on the board and be hailed as the winner per the bingo rules.
• Full House: Mark all numbers on the board and become an undisputed winner.
• Letter Patterns: Patterns inspired by letters such as L, T, X, N, etc., are used as winning patterns in bingo games. 

Variations of Bingo

There are many popular variations of the Bingo game, each with its own rules and gameplay. Below are some of the most popular bingo variations.

75-Ball Bingo

75-ball bingo is played on a 5x5 grid with numbers ranging from 1 to 75 on the board. Some of the common winning patterns in this variation are straight lines, four corners, blackout, full house, etc. The numbers are called randomly, and players must mark the respective numbers on their cards. 

90 Ball Bingo

This variation of Bingo is played with three rows and nine columns on the card. Each row consists of five numbers and four blank spaces. Players must win by completing one line, full house, two lines, etc. 

30 Ball Bingo

This bingo variant is also known as “Speed Bingo.” It is played on a 3x3 grid with 30 numbers arranged randomly. The major objective of this variant is to mark all 9 numbers and win first. 

Blackout Bingo

In this variant, players cover the entire board to win the game. The gameplay is longer than the other variants, and no patterns are used. Players only have to fill in all the numbers on the board to win. It is also known as the “Fullhouse” variant of bingo.

Pattern Bingo

This type of bingo game is more frequently played in the United States. The major objective in this variant is to make a specific winning pattern, such as a letter or shape. 

Clock

This is an advanced bingo pattern in which players must create a clock shape using two spaces on the board.

Pyramid

In this bingo variant, players must make a winning pattern by daubing the complete bottom line, three middle numbers, and the middle number in the top line into a pyramid shape.

Windmill

Players must daub four number squares in each corner of the bingo card along with the numbers on the center to create a windmill shape. The bingo rules for this version are similar to those for other variants.

Penalties

Before starting the game, being familiar with the specific bingo rules is essential to avoid penalties and execute fair gameplay. Online Bingo game alternatives have significantly reduced foul play events. Here are several penalties that players must avoid while playing the bingo board game.

• Incorrect Bingo Calls: If a player calls “Bingo!” but hasn't completed the specified pattern yet, may get penalized or disqualified from that game round.
• Cheating: If a player makes any attempt to manipulate the bingo game rules, they may get disqualified in a fraud attempt. They might also get banned from future games. 
• Using the wrong card: If a player tries to use incorrect cards or change cards in the middle of the game, they may be penalized and lose points.
• False Markings: If a player tries to complete a pattern by marking a false number that was not called in the game, they get penalized and banned from the game.
• Daub Wrong Numbers: Players might lose 100 points or get banned from the round if they try to daub the wrong number or press the bingo button when they don’t have that bingo combination.
• Sharing Cards: If a player tries to share their cards with the opponents, which is prohibited as per the bingo game rules, they may get several penalties in the game.
• Late Calls: Players who do not make “Bingo!” calls on time before the next turn is played are not considered winners. It is a good practice to declare winning if you successfully made the pattern.
