Objective

Discuss suspicions or report dead bodies to vote out possible Among Us impostors. Avoid elimination, whether by impostors or through accidental misjudgments in voting. The objective of the Among Us depends on your role as an impostor or Crewmate.
Crewmate
As a Crewmate, you must complete all assigned tasks or eject all impostors to win. Identify and vote out the impostors during discussions or emergency meetings.
Impostor
Eliminate all crewmates so that the number of impostors equals or exceeds the remaining crewmates. Impostors must eliminate crewmates without raising suspicion. They blend in by pretending to complete tasks and participating in discussions strategically.
How To Play Among Us Games as A Crewmate

For playing Among Us, you must be familiar with the among us basics and rules. You must understand the role of impostors and crewmates separately.
1. Understanding Among Us Crewmate
As a Crewmate, you must complete all randomly assigned tasks, saving yourself from being killed by impostors. Crewmates must always search for impostors by looking for suspicion or any other behavior. Look for these traits that might arise from murdering other crewmates, venting, or fake visual tasks.
If there is an emergency meeting, crewmates can vote on who they think might be the imposter among the other players in the game. The crewmates who get the most votes are ejected from the game and tagged as impostors; crewmates win.
However, if impostors murder enough crewmates in a situation where the number of impostors is equal to crewmates; impostors win.
2. Use the on-screen joystick to move
The joystick option given on the left of the screen is used to control the direction you want to move. The walking speed can be changed or adjusted based on game settings.
3. Find your tasks on top
You will have to find your tasks on the top left side of the screen. The number of tasks assigned might vary based on your game settings. Move around the map and stand on the yellow triangle-shaped use button on the bottom right of the screen.
4. Complete tasks
Some of the tasks are of multiple levels, and yellow exclamation marks on the map indicate the checkpoint where you will get additional tasks to complete. The taskbar will slowly fill as you progress in completing tasks. Fixing wires, aligning engines, and uploading data are some tasks that involve multiple parts.
5. Visual tasks in front of other players
Try to complete your tasks in a group, as impostors cannot complete tasks like crewmates. Some of the visual tasks can be seen by other players such as Dumping trash, shooting asteroids, medbay scan, etc.
6. Tap report if you find dead body
If you find a dead body, click on the Report button. Chat with other members and vote in emergency meetings. Pay attention to the movements of every player and highlight them in the group chat. You must report the dead body as soon as you see it.
7. Use emergency meeting console to call a meeting
Use the Emergency Meeting console on the screen to call an emergency meeting. Keep the suspected impostor in front of everyone. You can call an emergency meeting by clicking on the âUseâ button.
Avoid calling emergency meetings when you do not know who is the impostor in the game. Call a meeting only when you have enough evidence to get enough votes. The only people that use vents are engineers or imposters.
8. Tap the speech icon to chat during an emergency meeting
You can discuss your suspicions with your crewmates by tapping the speech button in the upper right corner to open the chat menu. You can identify other players based on their color. You can inform others about imposters by using color code. Such as âI saw red killâ, I saw black ventâ, or âpink is susâ, but be aware that it might be the imposters bluffing in the chat.
9. Vote for who you think impostor is
Based on the evidence and sightings, you can claim someone to be an impostor. For starters, impostors do not complete tasks, they use vents. Discuss within the timer about the impostor in the meeting, and when the discussion ends, it’s time to choose either to vote or skip voting if you don’t have enough evidence.
To vote, tap the player you think is the impostor and then tap the checkmark icon to submit your vote. Pay attention to who gets the most votes. Sometimes, the impostors vote after they read the situation properly.
10. Use the admin table
This table allows you to monitor where the players are collected. To access it, walk up to the table and tap the Admin button at the bottom right of the screen. A green map will then appear, showing the players’ positions rather than tasks. If a light flashes quickly off and on in a room with two or more people, it is very likely that a crewmate was recently killed.
11. Use the door logs
Get a sense of players’ movements between all three sections of maps. If you want to use it, walk to the computer and tap the door logs button on the bottom right side of the screen.
12. Use the vital panel
The Vital panel on the bottom right side of the screen tells which player is alive or dead without calling any emergency meeting. If you see someone die on a vitals report, then you can make a report. Players are listed from left to right based on the order in which they joined the lobby.
13. Make use of security cameras
The security cameras are used in Skeld, Polus, and Airship maps placed in the hallway, which allows you to see a particular section of the map in real time. Tap the security button on the bottom right of the screen.
Skeld has four cameras, and Polus has six cameras. In skeld map, you can view all cameras at once, but in Polus, you have to switch between each camera. A red light turns on whenever someone is using the camera.
14. Continue playing as ghost
Even after you get voted out as impostor, you can still round around the map as a ghost and complete tasks to help your crewmates win. The first crewmate that is killed is assigned the role of âGuardian Angelâ. They can protect other crewmates from the impostor. Guardian angels cannot vote or speak to live players in an emergency meeting.
You can speak with other ghosts in the game without waiting for an emergency meeting. Both alive and dead crewmates can complete their tasks and win.
15. Win the game
Crewmates can win by voting out all the impostors or by finishing all their pending tasks in the game.
How to Play Among Us Games as an Impostor?
To learn how to play among us being an impostor in the game, follow the step-by-step guidelines given below.
1. Understand the role of Impostor
One of the first Among US rules is to understand the role of impostors. Impostors in the game are aliens that infiltrate the crew, and the main objective of impostors is to kill as many crewmates as possible without being identified. Impostors do not have to complete tasks, and they can travel around the map using a unique skill known as venting.
Sabotaging is a skill of impostors by which they can set traps around the map attract other crew members, and kill them. If the impostor eliminates enough crewmates and matches the number of crewmates, then the impostor wins the game.
2. Control Movement By Using Joystick
Use the Joystick icon in the game to move around the map. The circle inside the icon helps you move in any direction. However, the walking speed depends on the setting the host implements in the game.
3. Avoid Drawing attention
You must not do anything that raises suspicion in your crewmate’s mind, which might create a report against you and vote you out of the game. Try to blend in the game and pretend to complete tasks. Avoid trying to complete visual tasks, as your crewmates can predict you are faking to perform the task rather than actually doing it.
4. Use Vents to Travel
Vents are used by engineers and impostors to move around the map quickly. Impostors can move quickly through rooms by tapping the Vent button in the lower right corner. Use arrow keys to move from one vent to a different vent. Do not let your crewmates see you moving through the vents as they will immediately suspect you of being an impostor.
If you are seen, try to slow them by locking doors, especially in Skeld or Polus map. You can set up sabotages and kill the crewmates before they can reach you.
5. Sabotage Rooms on the Map
Impostors can sabotage a room by setting up various traps for crewmates. Tap the âsabotage buttonâ in the lower right corner to display a red map with various options available to sabotage in different rooms. Select the room you want to sabotage.
- Lock Doors: This sabotage option is available in Skeld, Polus, and Airship maps. In ske,d the gates will open automatically after a few seconds of locking in. In the Polus and Airship game, the gates have to be opened manually.Â
- Lighting Symbol: This option is available in all maps and reduces the crewmates’ field of view to a small circle around themselves. It creates chaos and confusion and makes it harder for crewmates to see skills or find the impostors.
- Deactivate Communications: This option is available in all maps to hide the crewmate tasks and task bar. It can also disable systems like the admin table, cameras, door logs, and vitals monitor. It also clears the door logs and prevents any new entries.
- Oxygen Depletion: This is available in Skel and Mira HQ. Crewmates must fix it within the time limit or lose the game. It requires a 5-digit passcode in two separate locations. This can apply pressure on crewmates by forcing them to split out and divert attention away from other areas.
- Reactor Meltdown is available in Skeld, Mira HQ, and Polus. It must be fixed within the time limit or the game will be lost.
6. Kill Crewmates
You can click the Kill button in the lower right corner of the screen when crewmates are close or within the range. There will be a 10-60 second cool down period after killing a crewmate. You cannot kill another crewmate until the cool-down period is over.
Your cooldown period stops when you are in a vent using systems such as admin tables and sabotages. The kill range depends upon the host setting, which ranges from short to long. Do not kill in front of your crewmates as they can suspect you of being an impostor. If you are seen killing a crewmate or found next to a body and if you donât report, then you will be suspected and voted out.
7. Discuss and Vote
Discuss this in emergency meetings, and pretend to be innocent in front of your crewmates. Do not let your crewmates collect enough evidence to vote you out of the game. Always have a teammate to defend yourself in the game when you are accused.
Do not frame crewmates when they have been clear of any accused, as this will only make you look suspicious. If another impostor gets accused, make sure to vote them out to avoid being suspected.
8. Use Admin Table
Using the admin table will allow you to find crewmates to target for killing and frame efficient strategies. Avoid carrying out critical sabotages if players are near the repair place, as they might not get killed and vote you out once they are repaired.
9. Use Door Logs
Vent into a room and kill a crewmate, and now vent back to comms and walk normally to the body and pretend to discover it. Frame the person who was seen near the dead body. Claim that you have seen both of them enter via logs and only one leaving.
10. Use Vitals Panel
A vital panel is used to determine how many crewmates are left and check the key number. Key numbers are given so that players are joined from top to bottom. Players are listed to vitals from left to right according to the order in which they join the lobby. Vitals can be seen using a camera hence sabotage comms first if you need to kill a crewmate there.
11. Be mindful of Security Cameras
Make sure you do not come in the eyes of the camera as they are everywhere and can help crewmates keep an eye from a distance. Kill distance in front of a camera is less risky in Polus as only one camera can be used to keep watch at a time. However, it is better to avoid cameras as they might draw suspicion.
If the camera is getting turned on and off repeatedly, do not reveal yourself as it might be the trick of a crewmate trying to make you aware.
12. Continue Playing as a Ghost
If you are voted out of the game by your crewmates, it does not end the game. You can still plan sabotage strategies and help your fellow impostors to win if at least one of the among us impostors is still alive.
13. Win the Game
Impostors win if the crewmates fail to repair themselves within the limited time. When the number of impostors becomes greater than or equal to the number of crewmates in the game, then impostors win the game.
Among Us Tips and Strategies

Some of the significant tips and strategies to use during the game are mentioned below.
- Stay with the group; do not wander alone to avoid being suspected of being an impostor. Being in a group helps complete tasks like scanning, clearing asteroids, and emptying the trash in front of the group.
- Donât talk too much; it draws unwanted attention. Impostors should try to stay within the shadows and not overexpose themselves.
- Shapeshifting is an excellent tip for throwing blame on other crewmates.
- Impostors need to kill doctors and engineers having special roles first, as they can complicate their roles in the game.
- If you are an impostor you must use vents frequently to move around the map and keep on killing.Â
- If you, being a crewmate, are standing near a dead body and do not report, then other players who report the dead body might accuse you of being an imposter. Try to report the body as soon as you keep an eye on it.
- If light suddenly disappears from a room and then reappears immediately, then the person is venting which means they can be an impostor.
- Keep active during the game to avoid any direct suspicion in the game as crewmates can use your silence to raise fingers on you.
- If someone uses the top sensor, then the left sensor, then the right sensor, then they are definitely an impostor, as this movement can only be done by an impostor.Â
- Use the red light on the camera to fake out potential impostors by turning lights on and off. If they fall for it, you can call an emergency meeting and vote out the impostor.Â
- Use the admin map which shows the occupied rooms and how many crewmates are in each room. The impostor can use it to craft their story to blame other crewmates for the killing.
- Crewmembers can call emergency meetings to vote out impostors if they have enough evidence.Â
- Impostors can win the game by killing crewmates, voting them out, or by alive players leaving the game.
- Keep yourself safe from security cameras and avoid cameras while killing a crewmate.Â
- Use vital panels to discover the number of crewmates left and door logs to bluff in the game.
- Impostors must avoid popular places to kill a crewmate as they can easily be spotted.Â
